Max 10I feel that everything is going right. It’s been a while since I’ve felt that everything was okay. Today has been pretty great. School was it’s usual bleh, but then I got home and it seemed that everything fell into place perfectly. I actually did my math homework, did physics, and kinda worked on english. I took a shower. I got my course selection sheet signed. I’m registering for art classes in April. I watched my tv shows without feeling guilty of not doing homework. I have a proper bedtime routine, like Rachel’s on glee but way less intense. All those times where I was told that a routine will help you in life, I know truly believe it. It’s made me feel 10x better about the day, hell 10x better about the week. - Sami Hello thereSo this semester is a tough semester ever. I have math, english, physics and comm tech. For everyone who has a mix of those first 3 classes, how the hell are you surviving? Because I’m not. It’s only been a week and I’m exhausted. I’m not going to sit here and complain about my semester. There’s a lot of issues with it, that I rather not talk about. Instead I’ll complain about next year. Bahah, I shouldn’t even think about next year and just get through this semester. So we got our course selection sheets. The school wasn’t stupid and did everything by paper this year. Thank god! Because if they did it online again, I think I’d have to hold a sit in at the school. Possibly attempt to burn it down, either one really. So next year you only need to be enrolled in 6 courses, but to get into university you need six 4U/M courses. Right now my plan is to take grade 12 english in the summer and during the year take: physics, advanced functions, calculus and vectors, world issues, and chem. Those are my 6 during the year. But my parents don’t like the idea of spares and I don’t like the idea of 1 dependent course to get into university. So my possibilities right now are politics, economics, gr. 12 comm tech, challenge and change (which is the second part to anthro), and data management. I wish I could take an arts. Oh well. I most likely will take politics. Data and econ are not really on my radar, I rather not take courses that my dad specializes in. Challenge and change wouldn’t be too bad. Comm tech, well right now I see it as a course to boost my average but I’m not interested in it, at all. Our school offers so many grade 11 courses I’d love to take but not as many in grade 12. It’s either you need the prerequisite from the 11 course or we just don’t offer a course I want to take. Which makes sense, we are a smaller school. With less demand there’s no need to offer courses where there will be like 10 kids in it. I also wish I was taking philosophy during the summer, it’s been my plan since grade 9 to take philosophy in the summer of 2012. But to avoid having a dumb teacher and 5 excruciating months of english, I much rather get it over with in the summer. And there’s no chance I’m taking AP english. Ugh. So much wrong with course selection this year. Long useless rant. - Sami Oh those AussiesIt’s that time of year again! Yeah that’s right, The Australian Open! It’s the first grand slam of the year. I’ve been following all the scores daily but I don’t watch the matches because of the timing. Also I don’t watch the games because of the time of year this is, exam time. I’m either busy studying or I’m doing summatives. Every grand slam is during a busy time. The French Opem is during summatives and is shown on tv early at times of sleep. Wimbeldon is during second semester exams. The US Open is right before school starts and it just a crazy time. So I rarely get to see the first couple of rounds of the grand slams, but I try to watch the finals of each one. Which I managed to do last year. It was one of my goals! And I completed it with great success. Anyways, this year I feel that the Australian Open semi’s will be the top 4 players in men’s singles, which is fun to watch but at the same time not. I hope to see Andy Murray in the final. We all think this is his year! I also want Serena to win, but Wozniacki really needs to win a grand slam. Well there’s a little update on what I do when I’m not studying for exams. I guess I’ll go back to it. |
